The historic Occidental Hotel, originally built in 1889 and expanded in 1913, was transformed into a mixed-use development that preserves its Edwardian Classical heritage while incorporating modern elements. The property now features seven residential units, including four lofts, a commercial ground floor, and a rooftop terrace with stunning Fraser River views. The transformation involved restoring original materials such as wood beams and brickwork, upgrading mechanical systems, and crafting custom staircases with natural wood treads and sleek white railings. The façade was carefully refreshed to retain its historic charm while integrating contemporary touches, achieving a seamless blend of heritage preservation and modern functionality.
